It was not, by a long shot, Harry's first kiss. Somehow, though, it felt like it. He had expected kissing Mal to be nice, of course, to be pleasant and sweet and kind of exciting, the way first kisses with a new person often were, the way kisses felt when you really had feelings for someone. He hadn't expected it to feel so... right. To feel like coming home.
He definitely hadn't expected the tingling sensation. It started at his lips and spread down his body and made his stomach flip and his skin feel strange. He broke away in surprise, staring at her for a moment in confusion as he realised that something was happening, something odd. The strange feeling ran down his body to his tail, and intensified until it was almost painful - a very familiar pain.
"Mal!" he said urgently, grabbing her hand suddenly as the pain flashed white hot and then, just as it had before, it disappeared entirely. Slowly, he looked down.
