Dick is oblivious to Jason's struggle, but he is very pleased that he doesn't pull away.

As the performance progresses, he does occasionally glance over to Jason to see if he's enjoying it, and when the clowns come out he squeezes his hand lightly, keeping a slightly closer eye on him, just in case.
