Good [Biffy smiles fondly at him, pleased this is going so well. He knows their fragile quiet will not last very long, and the pack are bound to start up on their questions again in a moment, but he's glad they're sensible enough to give Eggsy a chance to digest before they started again. The question surprised him, he hadn't though to expect it, but he could see as soon as Eggsy asked it why he would. It had been such a long time since they'd had somebody who wasn't pack here - outside of the clavigers, anyway, but that was a subject for another time - Biffy sometimes forgot that not everybody had lived through all the same things as they all had together. It was a bond forged over many decades, and it was easy to forget when he was there, in his own territory, that not everybody shared it.]

Our previous alpha, she- oh, excuse me, she was Lord Maccon's mate, you see- [he stopped, realising he wasn't making sense] I should explain that better. Once an alpha's mate is established, they are also alpha as far as the pack is concerned, and Lady Maccon, while not a werewolf, was... definitely an alpha [he laughs slightly] but not long after she had married Lord Maccon, she met Channing for the first time. He made a splendidly bad impression. I wasn't present at the time, but I've been told the story. He mistook her for a housekeeper and told her he would get her into trouble, as you can probably tell he has a very superior attitude and Alexia... took offense [he smiled slightly] Alexia Maccon was an incredibly forthright woman.
