Two's company, eleven's definitely a crowd [Biffy and Eggsy]
[He'd done his best to put this off for as long as possible, but he knew he could only go so long. Werewolves were a pack, they were bonded closer than family, and what that meant in more realistic terms was that werewolves were insufferable busybodies who didn't let you have a moment's peace, and were worse than over-strict parents when it came to meeting new boyfriends or girlfriends.
Biffy had managed to hold them off for a while protesting that he hadn't even been on a proper date with Eggsy, but now that they'd got several of them out of the way, there wasn't much he could do to hold the pack off any longer - especially not when he'd done the same thing to a lot of them whenever they'd met somebody.
So he'd invited Eggsy to come over and hoped to god they wouldn't all scare him off. The excitement in the house was practically palpable, this was big news. Somebody, and he's pretty sure it was his beta, even managed to pull some strings and get the pack members who were stationed abroad back on leave, so there wasn't a single pack member missing for this. It was a very long time since Biffy had ever been this serious about anyone, and the pack were treating this with all the gravity it deserved. Food had been arranged, the house was spotlessly clean, and all 9 werewolves were sitting in the large living room looking as casual as possible given that they were all as excitable as the big, overgrown puppies they were.
Biffy walked into the living room after getting ready and looked over them.]
Right... [he searched for something to pick at, but they'd all outdone themselves, every last one of them was clean, neat and well-dressed] Please don't mess this up for me. Thank you.
[The doorbell rang and Biffy suddenly tensed. One of the younger pack members sprung up to answer it but Biffy shot him a stern look and he quickly sat down again. Taking a deep breath, Biffy headed to the door and opened it]

It made it rough in other ways, though.
Like when he didn't show up on time or cancelled a date, normal people would think a person was stuck in traffic or something similar, them? Yeah, they knew it was probably something a lot worse. Which was hard, but man was it worth it.
When Biffy invites him to meet his pack, Eggsy tells everyone at HQ that unless it's the end of the world, he is not available for a few days. He's earned it, by all rights, and he needed the time off for this. Eggsy needed to prepare, because he was uncommonly nervous. On a deeper level, he worried they wouldn't like him much.
He has no idea if Biffy might feel the same, if he's nervous at all. He just wants to impress them all, show Biffy that he was a gentleman and that he cared about him.]
Hi.
[The door opens and he greets Biffy as it's swinging wide.]
I mean, um. Hello.
no subject
Hi... [Biffy smiled fondly at Eggsy's attempt to be formal, he appreciated the fact that Eggsy seemed almost as nervous as he felt, it indicated he wanted this to go well just as much as Biffy did. Ignoring the fact that there was definitely at least two or three (if not all nine) werewolves probably crowded around the living room door with their ears pressed against it, Biffy took the moment to appreciate it being just the two of them - because all hell was about to break loose and he knew it.
Tugging Eggsy inside, Biffy leans in for a passionate kiss, smoothing down Eggsy's shirt front and tidying him up almost instinctively once he's done, he looks over him to make sure he is presentable, smooths a hand over his hair and looks towards the living room.]
Are you ready?
no subject
Ready as I'll ever be, yeah?
[He shifts his feet, and fights the urge to shove his hands into his pockets.]
Alright, yeah. Let's do this.
no subject
[Being pressed against Eggsy almost makes him want to say forget about the whole thing and drag him upstairs to his bed, but he knows that won't get very far, so he forces himself to push back those urges and takes Eggsy's hand, lacing their fingers together and smiling encouragingly at him]
They'll be good, I promise. They'll love you.
[Tugging him towards the door, he wasn't surprised when it opened just as they reached it, although the majority of the people inside had at least returned to their chairs and were pretending to not have been listening in. Biffy pulled Eggsy inside and took a deep breath]
Eggsy, may I introduce you to the London pack. [He went through everybody's names, starting with his beta and gamma first, then working his way through the rest of the pack members, each of them giving him a small nod or wave in greeting as he named them] Everybody, this is Eggsy..
no subject
With their hands linked, and Biffy beside him, he doesn't feel like it will be all that bad. He knows a lot is riding on this going well. Not necessarily that if the pack doesn't like him that it is over between the two of them, he sure as fuck hopes not, but that if he can show the pack that he's good for Biffy, that Biffy will know it, too.
It's shallow, and founded in his own insecurities, but he wants to do whatever he can to keep Biffy happy with him.]
Hello, yeah, Hi.
[He nods to everyone as they're introduced.]
Nice to meet ya. Biffy talks 'bout you guys all the time.
no subject
Well I should hope so [The joke came from a particularly large man in the corner, obviously only recently home judging by the army fatigues he was still wearing, there was a general laughter at the statement. Though they were all fairly large apart from one or two, and several of them looked particularly intimidating, there was a welcoming sort of atmosphere in the room.]
We've heard plenty about you as well. [This came from the slender, unassuming man that Biffy had introduced as his beta. Despite the tone being perfectly neutral, Biffy's cheeks tinted slightly pink at the comment.] the alpha is very fond of you
no subject
Have ya now?
[He glances at Biffy, eyes narrowing in on the flush he's sporting, and Eggsy tightens his grip on his hand.]
Ain't that sweet. [He's half teasing, but actually really touched by that. If he weren't still a bit nervous, he'd probably tease Biffy more, kiss him even because he really likes those pink cheeks.] Hope it was all good things.
no subject
Mostly [The beta smiles, glancing sideways at Biffy, who shakes his head despairingly]
Don't listen to him, of course I've only said good things about you. [He leans in to Eggsy, smiling fondly across at him. One or two of the watching pack smile fondly at their alpha's actions]
He's been like a love sick puppy since the first mission you had together [this comment came from a muscular blonde lounging on one of the sofas, despite his modern clothing there was just something inescapably archaic and incredibly posh about him, Biffy had introduced him as Channing, his gamma. It was just a touch on the mean side of teasing, but Biffy just rolled his eyes]
no subject
[He releases Biffy's hand to wrap his arm around his shoulders.]
You're such a gentleman. [Which he whispers, hoping only Biffy hears.]
[Eggsy stiffens a bit, not on purpose, but he quickly loosens back up. He likes Biffy, a lot, and he doesn't want anyone talking to him in any way that he doesn't want. But. He knows better than to smart off and embarrass his boyfriend like that.]
Ah, well. Can't say I blame him. I'm amazin'.
no subject
[Channing snorted almost derisively, opening his mouth to say something else, but two of the other wolves piped up mischievously. "Careful Channing, don't want to make a bad inpression on the alpha's mate" and "couldn't be worse than last time." Which caused laughter amongst several of them before Channing growled threateningly and they shut up. It at least served its purpose, and Channing didn't say anything else either, though he looked dinstinctly sulky. Biffy hid a smile.
After that, things calmed down a little, and the entire pack's attention stopped being quite so obviously on Eggsy. Biffy tugged him over to a seat in the corner and pulled him down, taking a moment while the pack talked amongst themselves, probably trying to decide what else they'd ask Eggsy]
How you feeling? This isn't too much is it? Apologies for Channing, that's just the way he is.
no subject
But. The couldn't be worse than last time had him a little confused. Eggsy settles into the seat easily, making sure to spread himself out over Biffy, arm around his shoulder, legs touching, and he throws Channing a wink before looking at Biffy.]
Nah, it ain't too much. I'm havin' a good time.
[He presses a soft kiss to the corner of his mouth.]
What'd he mean though? Worse than last time?
no subject
Good [Biffy smiles fondly at him, pleased this is going so well. He knows their fragile quiet will not last very long, and the pack are bound to start up on their questions again in a moment, but he's glad they're sensible enough to give Eggsy a chance to digest before they started again. The question surprised him, he hadn't though to expect it, but he could see as soon as Eggsy asked it why he would. It had been such a long time since they'd had somebody who wasn't pack here - outside of the clavigers, anyway, but that was a subject for another time - Biffy sometimes forgot that not everybody had lived through all the same things as they all had together. It was a bond forged over many decades, and it was easy to forget when he was there, in his own territory, that not everybody shared it.]
Our previous alpha, she- oh, excuse me, she was Lord Maccon's mate, you see- [he stopped, realising he wasn't making sense] I should explain that better. Once an alpha's mate is established, they are also alpha as far as the pack is concerned, and Lady Maccon, while not a werewolf, was... definitely an alpha [he laughs slightly] but not long after she had married Lord Maccon, she met Channing for the first time. He made a splendidly bad impression. I wasn't present at the time, but I've been told the story. He mistook her for a housekeeper and told her he would get her into trouble, as you can probably tell he has a very superior attitude and Alexia... took offense [he smiled slightly] Alexia Maccon was an incredibly forthright woman.
no subject
[Eggsy feels his cheeks heat, and he glances down and away. He'd let his emotions get the better of him, had thought that Channing had meant something else. Someone else.]
Right. Got it.
[He'd been jealous, unreasonably, when he'd thought Channing had meant that Biffy had brought someone else here to meet his pack. It wouldn't be out of the question, Biffy was older, and surely has had more lovers and boyfriends than just Eggsy, but he couldn't help the quick rush of jealousy he'd felt.
He's not usually a jealous person, but he likes Biffy more than he's ever liked anyone before.]
Good story.
sorry for the delay (again)!
[He was a little startled by the blush, until he realises all of a sudden that he has been jealous, and the thought gives him a little warm rush of pleasure, more so than it probably should being an alpha, but the idea of Eggsy being just that little bit possessive, of being jealous of even his previous lovers (albeit imagined ones) it made him feel wanted, it was a feeling he liked. He wasn't so much of a pushover he'd stand for too much of it, of course, but the thought was definitely enough to make him smile.
He leaned in without even thinking about it and pressed a kiss to Eggsy's lips]
You're the first person I've ever introduced to them. [he hopes Eggsy understands how important that makes him]
waits forever for biffy!!!
I am?
[His eyes flick away, and he knows now that Biffy realized he was jealous. He wasn't trying to be, but it was hard to adjust to emotions he's never had before, though he thinks he's doing a good job of adapting so far. Eggsy quite likes Biffy.]
Well, um. Yeah, that's perfect.
[Eggsy grins abruptly, leaning in to kiss Biffy again, not bothering to lessen his smile.]
d'awww
[There's a lot of chatter from the assorted wolves behind them, and while it's too low for Eggsy to hear, it's clear from the sudden blush on Biffy's face that he can hear what they're saying perfectly. Still, it doesn't stop him from kissing Eggsy back, smiling just as much.]
I thought you brought him to meet us, not to canoodle in the corner [one of the younger (well, younger appearing) pack members called out, to general laughter, and Biffy rolled his eyes]
I do hope they don't put you off too much, there's no escaping them now.
no subject
I like 'em. Just shows they care about you, teasin' an' all.
[Which isn't something Eggsy can find fault in.]
But why don't you show me 'round some more?
[He leans in to press a kiss to the corner of Biffy's mouth.]
no subject
That sounds like an excellent idea [not to mention it will give him chance to get his ridiculous smile under control.
Tugging on Eggsy's hand, he leads him back out into the quiet of the hallway, shooting a stern glare over his shoulder when some of the pack try to follow]
So that was the main sitting room, we also have a study and a library down here as well as the kitchen and a few other rooms... the usage of them all has changed quite a bit over the years though, [he smiles] any preferences what you'd like to see first?
no subject
I was thinkin' you could show me 'round all 'em areas. Library, kitchen, your bedroom.
[He grins a little, ducking his head quickly. Eggsy doesn't mean it in that way, to see his bedroom, but he would like to see the man's personal space. What he has in it, the mementos of the life he's lived.]
no subject
Well, I think we ought to save that for last...
[he's a little shy about it, after all it's his own space, even the pack is hardly allowed in there, it's a big step to show it to Eggsy.]
Let's start with the library,
[Not losing his grip on Eggsy's hand, Biffy started the tour of the house. Despite seeming like a perfectly normal London townhouse on the outside, it obviously took up a lot more space than it seemed. He talked a lot, partly out of nervousness and partly out of wanting Eggsy to really get a feel for the place, telling him all about the history of the rooms and what they used to be used for, as well as showing him bits and pieces that had survived from when Biffy was turned, and even a few from before, trinkets picked up by the pack along their lives.
Eventually, the tour wound its way upstairs and Biffy reached a door at the end of the corridor]
And this... this is the master bedroom. My bedroom.
no subject
The new flat made it less obvious that his missions kept him out of the area, and he loved every bit of privacy he had in it. He had things where he wanted them, personal things, and he added more and more all the time. He could only imagine how many years of living Biffy had packed into that room.]
Now this is nice, yeah?
[He slips into Biffy's bedroom, but stands near the door. Eggsy doesn't just want to rush in and make himself at home, well he does, but he wants it to be Biffy's choice.]
no subject
[Feeling oddly nervous, Biffy stepped into the room and closed the door behind them, he nodded slightly but didn't say anything, waiting for Eggsy to take in the room.
The room is impeccably decorated just like the rest of the house (interior decorating is one of Biffy's passions after all), but while the rest of the house is more modern and neutral, Biffy's room is straight out of the 1800s, with a four-poster bed and vintage dresser - every piece of furniture is part of a matched set, and the colours and design of everything in the room complements each other perfectly. It looks like a showroom at a furniture store, just a hundred years in the past.
There's two doors opposite the one they entered, one leading to an en-suite bathroom and one leading to a walk-in wardrobe. The key feature, however, is the walls. There's a timeline of photographs weaving its way from one side of the room to the other, almost entirely of his pack, but there's a few other people featured as well. They start as old, faded pictures from the victorian era, well cared for and lovingly framed, ranging up to more modern photographs]
no subject
He shuffles around from area to area, pokes his head into a bathroom which gets a wide-eyed wow, and then stops in front of the wall.]
These all your family, Biffy?
[Friends, families, all that, because it was a lot of picture frames and Eggsy couldn't imagine knowing that many people that he'd care enough about to put on his walls.]
no subject
Sort of... [Biffy crossed the room towards the photos, motioning at the very first one on the wall. It's clearly the oldest, and depicts a stiffly formal victorian couple with a small boy sat primly between them] This is my mother and father, it's the only picture I have of them, it was a lot more difficult and expensive to get pictures in those days of course. The rest of them... mostly pack, older members who are no longer with us and newer ones, you may recognise a few of them from downstairs. [He goes through the line, indicating certain pictures along the way] This is our old alpha, Lord Maccon, and his wife, Alexia, it's a photo from their wedding day. I did her hair. This one is their daughter Prudence and some of her friends. This one is actually a painting of Lord Akeldama, he's... [he hesitated, colouring slightly] a very old vampire. I worked for him, before I was bitten...
no subject
S'nice you got 'em up here an' all.
[Eggsy leans in to see the old alpha better, brow furrowed.]
He's, um, not 'round anymore, yeah?
[He just happens to glance over at Biffy when he mentions Lord Akeldama, and he arches a brow.]
What's that look for? Who's he?
no subject
[Biffy nodded at the question about Lord Maccon, pleased to be able to share this part of his life with Eggsy - he knew there was a lot of his life that Eggsy had missed out on, so he wants to be able to share as much of it as possible with the younger man before they start making memories of their own. There's plenty of wall space that he hopes will contain pictures of Eggsy in the future.]
He's not, there's... it's a little complicated and there's a lot that I can't say, but essentially there's a way for us to ... choose mortality so to speak, Lord Maccon had lived a long life, he wanted to grow old with Alexia, so when the time was right he left the pack to go and live out the rest of his life with her.
[When Eggsy notices the hesitation regarding Akeldama, Biffy blushes deeper. This was one thing he didn't really want to talk about, it had all been left so unfinished. It was something he'd made his peace with a long time ago, but that didn't mean it was any less awkward to talk about.]
Lord Akeldama is the man who taught me almost everything I know about information gathering, he... he is a very big part of the person I am today.
no subject
[Eggsy needed the same from Biffy on occasion. Even though he knew what Eggsy did for a living, and was involved in that sometimes, they couldn't always share.]
Sounds like he was important.
[He turns to Biffy, rubbing his thumb across his cheek, over the blush. Eggsy wants to know more, he can't help it, but he's never been pushy.]
Good thing you knew 'im, else you wouldn't be the Biffy I know and care about, yeah?
no subject
..he was... [there was a lot more to it than that, but it was a long story and he had no idea if Eggsy would even want to hear it, even after all this time it was hard to hide how he'd felt about the vampire and it was...maybe a conversation for another time.]
Well that's true [he smiles, leaning into the touch and wrapping his arms around Eggsy's waist] I'm not sure you'd have been quite so taken with the shy little Spanish boy I used to be.
no subject
Ah, I don't believe that.
[He slips his arms around Biffy's shoulders, shifting his feet until he's pressed against the other man.]
See cause you're pretty great, and I can't imagine a you that I wouldn't like.
no subject
Charmer [Biffy teases, leaning in to kiss him] I bet you wouldn't have even looked twice at me. Someone like you... I'd have had no chance.
no subject
[He kisses Biffy back, running his fingers through the hair at the nape of his neck.]
Would've been able to see ya, even then.
no subject
[Biffy arches into the touch, letting out a soft sigh of contentment. It's a sweet sentiment, and he's glad that Eggsy takes the time to express it.]
I'm glad though, that you weren't around then... it's good to have you now, I couldn't bear to have been through losing you. [He knows, of course, that's it there, on the horizon, it's not like his immortality has exactly gone away, but he doesn't want to think about that right now]
