(sounds good to me! I'm pretty easy going too ^^)
Charity balls, dinner parties, drinks, the social calendar for Gotham's elite was a busy one, and there was only so much Dick could avoid as the son of one of the city's wealthiest and well-known businessmen. The life of a socialite was what everybody expected of him, so he occasionally had to bow to those expectations (it was all, Bruce said, part of maintaining a secret identity. Dick privately just suspected Bruce hated them and wanted everybody else to suffer as well), and so here he was. He strolled around the room in his designer suit, sipping champagne and flirting with everybody who looked his way - if he had an image to maintain, he was damn well going to maintain it.
It wasn't the whole reason he was here, however, Bruce had picked up some intel that a certain newcomer to Gotham wasn't all he seemed, and of course they had a tendency to be quite paranoid of newcomers who seemed to have something to hide, ninety percent of the time they were showing up in Gotham to cause trouble for Batman. So he'd been watching the other man out the corner of his eye for most of the night - being subtle about it as usual, but he also noticed that he needn't have been, everybody else was staring as well. It wasn't hard to see why, the man was impeccably dressed and there was something ethereal about him that stood out, like he was turned up just a little brighter than everybody else. It made Dick even more curious about who he really was.
When the tall blonde disappeared out to the balcony, Dick saw his chance to get a little closer. He made his excuses to the pretty young woman trying to hang off his arm, extricated himself from her enthusiastic attempt at an embrace, and made his way out onto the balcony himself. He was surprised when the other man spoke, and for a second he glanced around to see if there was anybody else present, but no, he must have heard Dick coming.
"Gotham's light pollution is pretty bad," he agreed congenially "Bit like it's regular pollution, really."
