Jason was younger and more transparent than the version Dick knew, and his face gave away a complicated sort of resentment at the idea of Bruce adopting anyone. Dick he could kind of understand, he'd been the first, even if Dick in his world probably wouldn't have wanted it. But some kid that came after him here, probably would come after him there if stuff stayed alike ... Bruce had written Jason off, shuttled him to Dick, and when he got a new Robin he'd actually want to make that one his son.
It figured, but Jason couldn't help feeling some kind of way about it that he didn't want to examine that closely.
"Bruce found me stealing the hubcaps off the Batmobile," Jason said wryly. "Guess someone who just assigns himself as Robin will probably be a step up." Jason had already assumed he'd get replaced eventually, it was just the details that made him twitchy.
