Maybe his king is about to get murdered horribly but he can handle that.
He protects his queen in the end - sees that gambit early enough to fend it off, and even when he does lose a bishop he manages it bravely, pushing through and almost regaining his footing.
But there's still a large number of pieces on the board when he surveys the board and plays through what he can.
"I've lost, haven't I?"
In no more than five moves, and that's if he's lucky.
