Xie watches him work, thinking of course he's going to add things to simple beans on toast and make it better. That's what makes it tolerable when he doesn't even really like it. He really shouldn't find all of Kevin's good traits annoying, but right now they're just making it harder to commit to hating him and making this easier on them both.

He wants to just take his plate and go, but it seems rude - it's different if Kevin brings him up something, but watching him cook and then just leaving feels wrong, even if it means having to eat in awkward, tense silence.
So he takes a seat and pulls the plate towards him, adds some cheese and pepper and starts eating.
