Kevin is two rounds in when he sneaks out of the pub to the chippy next door, feeling surprisingly good, because he's out with his friends and he's bathing in their concern and consideration; but also surprisingly bad, because he knows that it's only a matter of time before he gets too drunk and maudlin and starts getting overly emotional.
And he also feels guilty for leaving Xie behind. Doubly guilty that they didn't clear the air yet.
As he waits in the queue for his order, he reaches out, just curiously, to reassure himself he can feel Xie through it, just for the contact.
"Hey," he says to Lisa standing next to him, "approximately where did you say the Safe House is?"
And then he's shoving his head back into the pub and yelling for Tony and sprinting for the car.
They're halfway in the right direction when the fear hits him in the stomach.
