Xiee being knocked off his feet is a warning to Kevin, who lifts a hand behind and makes another gesture, easing a hole in the wall so it passes safely over him. That at least will give something for Zhao to have to deal with, which might take the edge (ha!) of the fact that Kevin brought his fists to a swordfight.
He slips to the side, twisting lightly on his feet while throwing down his hand - his burned hand, but sheathed in his own power - to deflect the blade safely behind him. With the same motion he brings his other hand down hard, loaded with power, towards Zhao as he reaches him.
He's surprised - he had not judged Zhao to have this much power without Xie, and that's worrying.
