Okay. Firstly, they know he was Zhao's Familiar. Secondly, they think that he's still Zhao's Familiar. Which means - they think Kevin stole him, but didn't make a link? Or... Kevin didn't recognise their voices. Is it possible they don't know who he is? Do they think Xie was at his Yifu's side up until his death?
He marches up to the door of the empty terraced house they're holed up in, and sends a blast of magic against the front door just strong enough to rattle it without blowing it off the hinges.
"I know you're in there, kitty cat!" Zhao's apprentice yells from outside. "You think I can't find my Shifu's Familiar?"
