That's comparable to mass murder, right?
He says it to lighten the mood a little bit, but also because he's not sure if it would help to admit that, as far as Xie is aware, Kevin's only done questionable things in service of the greater good - he is more than willing to gush about his wonderful boyfriend and how much of a saint he is, even to his face, but right now it just creates something he has to live up to, shoes he needs to fill, and Xie doesn't want to put that pressure on him.
