Xie sends a small hum of acknowledgement in return and goes about his usual night time routine.
When he's finished with his skin care and his braids are undone and Kevin still hasn't moved from the living room, he calls out again.
"I'm going to bed now, don't stay up too late"
He doesn't want to tell him to go to bed, he's a grown man who can live with the consequences of his own bad decisions, but he figures the reminder is a good idea if Kevin has lost track of time again.
He sends a sleepy good night as he's finally drifting off - partly another reminder and partly just to say it.
When he wakes up somewhere around 4am and Kevin is still downstairs, he contemplates just going back to sleep, but he realises Kevin has fallen asleep so he stumbles groggily downstairs to gently shake him awake in order to encourage him to come up to bed.
