That does surprise him, even in his sleepy state - he doesn't start, but he does open his eyes again for a second, staring into the darkness.
A warm smile touches his lips and he relaxes into the embrace, eyes drifting closed again with a contented sigh. He doesn't have any expectations of Kevin, but he can't deny what he wants, can't deny he was already missing this. He isn't going to read into it or look for anything more, but it certainly makes it easier to drift off back to sleep.
