"You will!" She snaps at him, furious but concentrating on pouring her power into it. She throws another bolt at magic at Kevin, but he's already moving.
He takes advantage of Xie taking a stand to move behind him, grabbing one wrist and writing it up while he throws his opposite arm around his throat.
The magic burns past his shoulder, but he tightens his grip, temporarily using Xie as a human shield.
"Gege," he mutters, slipping into Mandarin. "Remember Shifu in the warehouse. You can control the flow."
He's banking on Mina not wanting to kill her familiar, but when he sees her readying another attack, he pushes him away sharply, out of range. He yells sharply when his hip is caught.
