Ah, now Jason remembers why he doesn't date. Being social. With other people. Without a motive for getting something out of it or stealing from them. It's one thing to say he'll go with Dick and another to have to interact with strangers. Strangers on stilts, no less.
"Isn't this the only circus in Gotham?" Jason asks, not to be mean exactly but seriously questioning just how many circuses are necessary for one weird city.
Also knowing this is exactly the same circus that Dick grew up in is... Really, really intimate for a first date. Like meeting the family. Maybe Jason was overthinking things, and Dick looked so happy being here even knowing what that meant about his past... Maybe Jason could suck it up just a little fucking longer.
