The surprising seriousness sets Isabel a little at ease. He's not mocking
her, at least and that's something. She used to spend all her time in Mercy
Falls wishing she could run away somewhere else after Jack died and Cole
acted like...Cole. She spends less time wishing that here and she doesn't
know if it's because no one here knew Jack. No one here knows the
vulnerable girl she used to be before the wolves; no one here knows that
Isabel Culpepper can be broken. It's easier to be here than it ever was in
Mercy Falls and, while Isabel won't admit it, part of that is because of
Stiles and his friends who have become her friends (sort of) by proxy. She
smirks at his ramble. "That's exactly how I feel about the common sense
that I bring to everyone's life," she chimes in. Isabel is always the one
to call bullshit, to bring levity to the situation. Of course, she's also
the one that says 'We're probably all going to die'.
"I don't mind far," she assures him, settling back into the seat and
closing her eyes a moment. She does like the idea of 'getting away' even if
it's only temporary, even if it's only a little ways. She likes the idea of
being anonymous. As for whether the way she treats him becomes less
incomprehensible or not, she's not entirely sure. The problem is that it
has nothing to do with Stiles and everything to do with her. In fact, if
she liked Stiles less, there would be nothing in comprehensible about her
behavior; she'd be flat out bitchy.
