It's all coming back to me now (Spot and Bucky)

When the Hydra facility had been raided, the last thing anybody expected to find was a 16 year old kid on ice, and yet there he'd been. Steve had been the one to stop the Hydra scientist from shutting down the life support, but they hadn't got there in time to prevent the destruction of a good half the facility's records - including the ones about who the kid was or why he was there.

So what choice did they have but to wake him up and find out?

He was uncooperative at first, refused to give them any details other than the name 'Spot' and kept threatening to fight anybody that came close, though they managed to work out pretty easily that he was from Brooklyn and he'd been on the ice almost as long as Steve had. It's when he overhears a comment about Bucky that he seems to change his tune.

"Bucky Barnes?" he asks, and while he still seems wary, for the first time since he woke up he says something actually helpful "I'll talk to him. Tell him the name's Sean Conlon."

"You'll never be able to tell if Matt is on the roof or not." Steve smirks over his coffee. Bucky ruffles Sean's hair as they head out, "Try not to anything too stupid." He smiles laughing a little as Steve pulls Bucky out of the house.

He just rolls his eyes and waves them off, washing up his bowl while he waits for Peter to arrive.

Once he does, they start with lounging on the sofa talking about school, then playing video games, all the while edging ever closer. By the time they put a movie on they're so close they're almost lying on top of each other and then, well, they stop paying attention to the movie.

Or anything else, for that matter, which is probably why neither of them hear the door and Bucky and Steve are going to walk in on Peter Parker lying on their sofa without a shirt on, Spot draped over him and currently working on leaving a truly impressive hickey on his collarbone, and his fingers just beginning to dip below the waistband of Peter's jeans.

Bucky sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose as Steve tries not to laugh.

"I thought we told him not to do anything stupid," Bucky says eyes flicking over to Steve.

"Is this stupid or expected." Steve counters.

"They're on the couch in the living room, he has a bedroom, could have easily heard us come in and had enough time not to get caught." Bucky shrugs. "Peter you should probably put your shirt on."

That's when Steve starts to laugh.

Both boys' heads whipped round in surprise when Bucky and Steve started speaking, and Spot scrambled to get off of Peter, offering him a hand to help him sit up as well.

"Spider sense?" Spot hisses at the red-faced Peter, who shrugs helplessly and tries to find his shirt. He manages to grab it and pull it over his head.

"Uh I'm really sorry Mr Barnes, um, Mr Rogers, we were just - uh- you, um, you know what we were- um. I'm sorry."

Spot would just like the ground to swallow him up now please, his parents were the worst.

"Stop apologizing Peter," Bucky says and there isn't any anger there. "We're gonna order pizza for lunch, we are gonna have to tell your aunt about these shenanigans," Bucky says, figures they both need a talking too, and well he's not talking to Peter about this shit, he weirdly had to work with the kid sometimes. He also knew the nurse would probably take the same stance he and Steve did, they were gonna get up to shit like this no matter what they did. So why be anger.

"We're gonna talk later, but for now do something PG-rated." He snorts heading into the kitchen.

Peter's eyes widen in horror and Spot scowls in annoyed embarrassment.

"Jesus, dad, we was just making out."

For all that Bucky seemed calm and even amused about this, the fact that he mentions having to basically report back to Peter's aunt has taken that angry edge Spot is already feeling from being embarrassed and sharpened it into something sullen and bitter.

He doesn't see what the big deal is.

After awkward pizza and movie, Peter heads home, his aunt hadn't been mad just as amused as Bucky and Steve. They're 15 they're going to do this stuff., looks like it's time for all that talk stuff, least I don't have to tell him not to get you're kid pregnant. Bucky had laughed at that.

Steve heads upstairs to let Bucky and Sean talk Bucky falls back into the couch, "Look it's okay to be embarrassed." He says leaning back into the cushions flipping the remote between his hands. "Hell, what you were getting up to is okay." He shrugs, "Would of done the same when I was your age... only 10 years older than you." He says and that's weird to finally admit out loud.

"But don't tell me it was just makingout." He gives Sean an easy look. "Look, I just gotta make sure you're being safe about all of it, and have the information you need to stay safe." He pauses and huffs.

Spot basically spent the whole time simultaneously sulking and trying to look like he wasn't sulking, occasionally giving Peter apologetic glances when he could.

When Bucky eventually sits down to talk to him about it all he sighs, scrubbing a hand over his face.

"Fine, okay, it was probably gonna go a little further than just making out, but that's all, I'm not gonna have sex on the couch for one thing."

"I didn't think you'd be worked up enough to have sex on the couch." He says leaning his head back on the sofa. "You I don't mind you you fool around with your boyfriend." He shrugs, "But even if you're not having 'sex'" He says making wobbly air quotes. "You still gotta be safe when you're going past making out." He says with a huff, "Condoms and lube are your friend," And okay maybe he does need to talk to Spot like a 25 year old talking to a 15 year old, even if he's the kids dad.

He's quite for a moment, "There's a reason it's called being safe, you could get sick if you're not, there's shit out there that Steve and I had to learn about too."

"Come on, dad," Spot scoffs "Ain't like Peter or I got a whole lot of experience, we ain't gonna have caught VD or nothing." because, of course, Spot's vague knowledge of sexual health is still rooted in the 1950s, he knows about STIs, he's just only ever considered them a consequence of promiscuity.

"And it's not like we's exactly at risk of anybody getting pregnant."

"Things have changed a bit since we were in the ice." He says pushing his fingers through his hair. "Steve and I had to catch up, worse things than VD." he says honestly, "Also I'd like to point out as someone who said I'm gay never gonna have kids, it took one night too much alcohol... and I ended up with something I wanted but never thought I'd have." He says smiling at Spot, he scrubs a hand down his face.

How blunt should he be right now, well it's a life or death thing sooo. "There's this thing called aids, it'll kill you, you get it from sex, or doing needle drugs, or by getting someones blood in an open wound." He says seriously.

"No cure, Not saying you and Peter are doing drugs, not sayin' you and peter are gonna cheat on each other," he says the next part carefully, "But given how often Steve and I get cut up against enemies we don't know, and how often Peter puts himself in the same type of situations you need to be careful, you can get it and other crap from oral too." He shrugs, "So you just need to be careful."

He lets out a breath, "I mean not using them when your married is some peoples thing, but it's also just a mess, and if you want the same experience as the lung photos, just watch how to survive a plauge, or google aids 1970-1990." He says huffing a little.

"Now that the dark and scary part is over, you wanna ask me anything, and this is awkward okay, I don't know how to do this, anymore than you know how to listen to it." He laughs softly.

Spot listens to Bucky's explanation and he has to admit it's not actually quite as awkward as he was expecting it to be, and it ...kind of gives him a lot to think about. He didn't think anything like that would have changed since he'd been on the ice but he guess it sort of makes sense. He makes a mental note to actually look up the stuff he was talking about - as horrible as the lung photos had been, they'd been educational, so this seemed like much the same thing. Gross but necessary.

The offer of questions makes him pull a face, though, because as much as that part of the conversation had been less awkward than he thought it was going to, there was no way he was asking his father anything about sex. The less he thinks about his father and sex, the better. Him and Steve are already sickening enough as it is. Adorable, sure, but in a nauseating way.

"Look, uh, I already know the actual... y'know.. mechanics of it all. So... I think I'm good."

"I figured you wouldn't want the mechanics of it." He says wrinkling his nose. "Those are pretty easy to figure out, there are books anyway, so neither of us have to have that talk." He laughs, "But I mean like other shit, I guess." He shrugs. "Like on the relationship end of things." He shrugs.

"I guess I already talk to you about most of that stuff," Spot admits, because as embarrassing as it was to talk to his father about his dating life, most of the time when he had questions he had actually gone to Bucky with them. "I think we're doing okay, me and Peter..."

"Well that's good." Bucky smiles finally picking up the remote and looking for something for them to watch. "You could both use a slice of normal in your lives, well as normal as anything can be for us." He laughs softly. "Anything else going on, now that we're done with all the awkwardness, or do you have more awkwardness we need to handle." He smirks.

"No, nothing else." Spot promised. It would be nice go five minutes without something traumatic or awkward happening, Bucky was right, they did need some more normal in their lives...

At least that conversation was over with.

The next few weeks fly by, and it's heading into the Christmas holiday, typically if they were lucky the amount of worked went down for Bucky and his friends. Villans took a holiday too sometimes, unless it was Wilson Fisk, or the Russian Mob, but Bucky would hope for the best for Clint and Matt.

"Only a couple of weeks until break." Bucky smiles at Spot pouring himself a mug of Coffee, Steve is heading back from Washington DC today just a few more hours and they can pretend to be normal, and start pulling lights and things out of the attic.

"Can't wait." Spot admitted, shoving a spoonful of cereal in his mouth. School had been ramping up a bit lately, trying to get things finished before the break, and he was struggling to keep up. He was doing a lot better than he had at the beginning of the year, at least. It didn't help that Steve was away, because Spot was always a little more on edge when either of his parents were on missions, but at least he was due back today.

"Steve's on the train back from Washington." Bucky says draining his coffee cup, "Try to come home right after school so we can go get the tree." He says easily, "We're gonna decorate when Steve gets home." He smiles a little.

That makes him relax even more, the fact that he's definitely on his way home means for sure nothing bad has happened.

"We're getting the tree? Today?" he's trying to sound casual, but he can't hide that he's kind of excited.

"Well yeah, Christmas is in like 3 weeks, gotta have time to enjoy the three." He laughs warm and easy putting waffles into the toaster, "You want some or are you gonna pick up breakfast on the way to school?" He asks answering a couple of texts rolling his eyes a little. "it's Steve." He laughs softly.

"Oh I was gonna meet Peter before school this morning" he admits, they wouldn't have a whole lot of time to hang out before class but they liked to grab the time they could get, especially since they couldn't hang out that evening - he had been hoping to, but he's willing to sacrifice it for the sake of the tree.

Bucky nods and gives the kid a couple of bucks for a began. "Just make sure you eat." He says easily, "While you're at school I'll be digging stuff out of the attic." He smiles, "And finishing up some work stuff." He ruffles Spot's hair a little. "Steve should be back the time you get home."

Spot offers the traditional cursory grumble and straightens out his hair again, grabbing his backpack and standing up.

"Okay dad. I'll see you after school." he calls as he makes for the door, eager to grab the time he can with Peter - and tell him Steve was safely on his way home, and they were putting the tree up.

They day is making sure all the mission reports are filed and random domestic things are done before Steve gets home. When he does get home it's pulling boxes out of the attic and getting stuff to make some homemade ornaments with Spot... Bucky thinks that the kid his kid is too old, but he still thinks it will be fun for all of them. Well at least Bucky hopes Spot wont think it's stupid.

Steve had picked it out, little metal frames in the shape of Santa Clause, Holly, Bells, and other Christmas and winter themes, that looked like stained glass, with little glass beads you fill them with and pop them in the oven.

They flop down on the sofa and wait for Spot to get home from school.
