"Oh I see, so really you saved my life because you want a reward?" Tony asked, pretending offense. He sighed dramatically, twisting onto his side and propping himself up on his elbow.

"Alright then, what do you want?"

He can't help looking over at Tony with a smirk.

"Got what I want."

He let his head drop back.

"Lemme know when you're ready to kick this Popsicle stand."

"You wanted to blow up your car? Because, really, there's easier ways to do that you know," Tony pointed out with a half-smile.

He thwapped Tony lightly on the stomach with the back of his hand.

"No, idiot. I wanted a fun time for tonight. Something wild. Exciting."

"Well, I am obviously both wild and exciting," Tony agreed, the adrenaline making him bolder than usual.

That got a grin out of him. That's the spirit! Yes, that!

"You blew up a car," he pointed out.

In and out, he finally huffed out a breath before turning to Tony.

"So we've got two options now: I go and get a car and you wait here in the middle of nowhere until I get back. Or. I let you in on the secret of a lifetime and if you tell anyone, I murder you within seconds of your mouth opening. Which one are you more interested in?"

"Well, I mean, don't take this the wrong way but how stupid do you think I am?" Tony asked, tone serious but mischief in his eyes "I am obviously more interested in any secret that is apparently so big it's life threatening. I won't tell a soul. Scout's honour." he crosses his fingers over his heart.

"Not that I was ever a scout, full disclosure."

Which is when he reached over and put his arms around Tony before pulling-

And he kept pulling. Kept pulling up and up and up until they were high in the sky with only Clark's arms around him. And a knowing smirk.

"Then this is how we get back to the dorms. You want the fast track or the scenic route?"

Tony was startled enough by the sudden contact that it took him a moment to realise they'd left the ground. The second he did realise, he started, flinging his arms around Clark in surprise.

"You...what..I..." no wonder he'd been able to get them both out of the car before it exploded. No wonder he could do... almost everything he could do. "How long have you been able to fly?" he finally said, acknowledging it was a stupid question as soon as he said it.

"Since I was six," he said amiably as he started floating high enough to be much less visible on the ground. Not high enough to be troublesome to Tony's lungs, but high. The flailing mostly just made him laugh. "Stupid question. Try again."

"....Why? How?" he managed eventually, he'd heard about the existence of 'metahumans' before, but he'd never actually encountered one, and as near as he could tell they all got their powers in different ways.

"Because I can," which seemed the only thing he was really interested in most times, "and it's actually a manipulation of the gravitational forces on me. Requires more explaining than it's really worth since it's like explaining how you move your arms."

Ah, just my stupid new email *kicks it* I'll get used to it XD

"Really? That's fascinating, so-" he stops himself, knowing that he's about to get into science nerd territory. So, Clark had... always had these powers? At least that's what Tony assumed, obviously nothing out of the ordinary had happened to give him the powers... unless of course it had and he just wasn't talking about it, which was also possible.

"That's... pretty cool."

He turned to look at Tony with a low chuckle.

"I could also crush your head like a grape. For what it's worth."

He kept flying.

"And the debris would have torn you to pieces but it's about as effective as a paper ball on me."

"Seriously man? We were having a nice moment there, appreciating your amazing powers, and then you had to go and be all creepy and start showing off." Tony just shook his head despairingly, but he followed it up with a grin. Sure, the comment about how easy it would be to kill him was a little unnerving, but Tony had recently survived a near death experience and right now he was flying, so he was feeling pretty invincible.

He shrugged, clearly not bothered by the scolding.

"I didn't actually show anything off," he pointed out, "and you don't really want me to. At least, I don't think so.

"I was just making sure that threat earlier about keeping it to yourself had the proper teeth." But he looked over at Tony.

"I am pretty amazing, though. Glad you noticed."

"Don't worry, you're my friend, I'm not going to tell anybody anything." Clark was probably his only friend, and sometimes he wasn't even sure about that, but after today he was pretty certain Clark saw him that way (well, maybe more, but he was still hesitant about bringing that up).

"Like you didn't already know I'd noticed," he rolled his eyes.

"No, but I like calling attention to it," and he really did. Utterly shameless, this one. "Good on you for figuring out I like you, though. It only took you how long, genius?"

"I am a genius scientist, and I work with the data that I'm given, and yo- wait, when you say you 'like' me..." yea, okay, for a genius Tony can be pretty dumb.

"I'm not repeating myself, Tony," he said with a faint snort. "I'm also fairly certain that genius scientists can do the math."

Tony fell silent as he contemplated it, frowning thoughtfully. A mischievous glint sparkled in his eyes as he shifted slightly, slowly so that Clark didn't drop him, and wrapped his legs around Clark's waist.

"Some equations take longer than others."

Clark looked down at what Tony had done before letting out a laugh and leaning down to take his mouth in a kiss. Sure, he might sleep around, but there was sleeping around and then there was finding someone he actually enjoyed spending time with. Tony needed to work on his confidence a little, but they'd get there.

Tony probably would never admit how long he'd been waiting for Clark to kiss him, and he certainly wasn't going to ever tell anybody how he'd thought about it. He'd certainly never pictured it like this, clothes-half shredded and fresh from an explosion, flying above the earth in defiance of the physics he enjoyed so much. Despite that, it was everything he'd hoped for and more (not that he hoped for things like a lovesick teenage girl that would be ridiculous who told you he did that), and he returned the kiss with enthusiasm.

He paused, midair, to enjoy himself before drawing back and tilting his head.

"You want to go back to the school or someplace amazing?"

"I know I'm a bit of a nerd, but come on, of course I'm going to say someplace amazing." mostly because he had no idea what could be more amazing than this.
